This report category contains all forms of estuarine and freshwater harvest and/or release. The methods include commercial and tribal fish ticket (i.e., sales receipts), punch card, postal survey, creel survey, air or lighthouse boat count, or a combination of these methods. The count types are commercial net harvest, treaty or tribal inriver harvest (all methods), freshwater or estuary sport harvest or release, or various combinations of these types. Life stage is presumed to be a combination of adults and jacks, unless specified otherwise in the source documentation. The principal sources of these data are published agency reports, and unpublished agency files and data bases. Trends in this category are generally annual, but the harvest of some species (primarily summer and winter steelhead) are reported by seasons which span calendar years. Summer steelhead sport harvest and release in Idaho have also been reported under separate spring and fall biennial trends.
