DOWNLOADABLE STREAMNET DATABASE UPDATED September 17,2004

The downloadable version of StreamNet's queryable database has been updated as of September 14, 2004. This entire database can be downloaded as an MS ACCESS database. The downloadable version of our queryable database is updated only periodically, so the most up to date information is available only through the online data query system. Additional data not available in the query system are also available through StreamNet. You can find our Map Catalog, GIS data, various pre-summarized data sets (such as for subbasin planning), and a number of independent data sets on our Fish Data page. The Independent Data Sets include stand-alone data sets such as stream temperatures, genetics data, and data from some Northwest Power and Conservation Council (NPCC) Fish and Wildlife Program projects. Also included are links to non-StreamNet Internet data sources.

The StreamNet Internet site is scheduled to be down from Wednesday morning December 17 to Monday December 22 while the Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission (PSMFC) moves its offices to a new location at 205 SE Spokane St., Suite 100, Portland, OR 97202-6413.  While the Internet site is scheduled to be up again on Monday December 22, the scheduled dates could vary somewhat due to unforeseen circumstances. Also, it is possible that some functions of the web site, such as the data query system, on-line mapper, e-mail, or ftp could be down longer than the main web site.  If you need assistance, phone calls are being forwarded to the new location; you can contact us at 503-595-3100 and we will help to the extent possible.  We will be unavailable on Dec. 18 and 19 during the actual move.  The StreamNet Library and the Library Internet site, www.fishlib.org, will be unaffected.

The down time will also affect other Internet sites hosted by PSMFC, including PSMFC (www.psmfc.org), Alaska Fisheries Information Network (www.akfin.org), Pacific Fisheries Information Network (www.psmfc.org/pacfin), Fisheries Economics Data Program (www.psmfc.org/efin), Recreational Fisheries Information Network (www.recfin.org), Regional Mark Information System (coded wire tag database, www.rmis.org), PIT tag Information System (www.ptagis.org), Northern Pikeminnow Sport Reward Program (www.pikeminnow.org), Habitat Education Program (www.psmfc.org/habitat), and Essential Fish Habitat (www.psmfc.org/efh/efh.html).  Also affected will be the data query system for the California Cooperative Anadromous Fish and Habitat Data Program (CALFISH, www.calfish.org).  The length of down time may vary among these sites.
