IN MS ACCESS 2000-2003 FORMAT


The Microsoft Access 2000-2003 version of the StreamNet database contains most of the tables that make up StreamNet data, including time series ("trends") of adult returns, redd counts, etc. It also includes fish distribution, dams, barriers, hatchery facilities, references, lookup tables for most coded fields, and most georeferencing tables that use StreamNet mixed-scale hydrography. These files have primary keys and indexes already built, many relationships between tables established, and sample queries. The LocMaster table contains all locations used in the other StreamNet tables, and includes fields that identify the georeference codes applicable for each location, including HUC2 through HUC12 values (X's indicate multiple values are applicable to the location code). You can create queries using tables with names beginning with LocX that will filter the data by state, county, Hydrologic Unit Code (HUC_2 through HUC_12), NPCC province, NPCC subbasins defined in 2001, or SN_Region (24 = Columbia River Basin). All data in the StreamNet database can be used for professional and personal purposes free of charge. We encourage the use of these data, but as a professional courtesy we ask the following:

  1. Please provide appropriate citation and acknowledgement for subsequent distribution or publication of any work derived from StreamNet data sets or other information obtained through the StreamNet web pages. Refer to our Citing StreamNet page for suggestions on how to cite us.

* "DEF Version" refers to the "Data Exchange Format," which defines the basic structure of data in the database. The size of the downloadable zip file is shown in the Download Size column. The Database Size column shows the size of the Access file when unzipped, all indexes and relationships are created, and the database is subsequently compacted. If you don't have a program that will unzip the file you download, search the web for “zip programs” to locate a free or evaluation copy of a program that will unzip a file with a .zip extension.
