The Microsoft Access 2000 version of the StreamNet database contains most of the tables that make up StreamNet data, but exclude several older data categories such as the map catalog, protected areas and restoration project data in order to reduce the size of the download.

This edition has primary keys and indexes already built, and most relationships between tables established.

The size of the zipped file is shown in the Download Size column. The Database Size column shows the size of the Access file when unzipped. If you don't have a program that will unzip the file you download, search the web for “zip programs” to locate a free or evaluation copy of a program that will unzip a file with a .zip extension. If these database files are too large for you to practically download and expand, you can alternatively download just the individual tables that you need by clicking BACK on your browser and selecting the ASCII format link near the bottom of the Fish Data page. These comma-quote delimited files can be imported into many different software programs.

The Access database includes most 'tabular' data in the StreamNet Online Query System, including trends of adult returns, redd counts, etc. It also includes dams, barriers and hatchery facilities, references, lookup tables for most coded fields (see the current Data Exchange Format for additional decoding), and most georeferencing tables. The LocMaster table contains all locations used in StreamNet tables; you can create queries that will filter fishery data in Trend or FishDist records, e.g., by State, County, HUC, Province, Region2001, Subbasin1990, or Subbasin2001 by adding criteria that limits results to only those records where the LocationID equals the LocationID in one or more of the following tables: LocxState, LocxCounty, LocxHUC, LocxProvince, LocxRegion2001, LocxSubbasin1990, and LocxSubbasin2001 AND where Trend.BegFt LE LocxHUC.EndFt and Trend.EndFt GE LocxHUC.BegFt.
